The 22SCT 3.0 is optimized for today’s tracks with updated suspension geometry, an all-new rear end, and a 3-gear transmission that maximizes rear grip. Also, many parts that were considered optional on the 2.0 are now included so you can build to team spec right out of the box.

Revised Motor Location

As on the 22 3.0, the 22SCT™ 3.0 has the motor moved back and closer to the diff gear by a substantial 12mm, allowing for more rear grip on exit, more entry steering, and an overall easier to drive truck.

Transverse Battery Mounting

Transverse Battery Mounting

A new wider 2.5mm aluminum chassis and stiffezel mud guards create a new battery mounting pocket which allows for both saddle and shorty type LiPo packs to be mounting transverse across the chassis and a shorty mounted fore-aft for the ultimate in battery mounting adjustment. This allows for more tuning capability front to rear and a wider placement of the battery weight for a more stable car without increasing the total weight of the truck.

3-Gear Transmission

3-Gear Transmission

During our testing, we found massive improvement in both speed and rear end grip for both spec and modified classes changing from a 4-gear to a 3-gear transmission. With improved handling in all classes, and quicker acceleration in spec classes, the 3-gear tranny pushed performance to the next level for all racers. A 4-gear transmission is available as the tuning option allowing the 22SCT 3.0 to be dialed in for any surface, grip level, and driving style.

All new front caster blocks and suspension arms allow for a VLA adjustment and the bell crank steering system which together give the 3.0 the amazing steering 22 consumers have come to love, but with a more consistent steering feel on all different surfaces, and a more consistent short course truck from track to track because of it.

Aluminum Plate Rear Hub

Aluminum Plate Rear Hub

The 22SCT 3.0 includes the all new aluminum plate rear hub. The hub base is molded composite, allowing a press bearing fit without play and minimal unspring weight compared to an aluminum hub. The aluminum plate is secured to the hub with a M3 screw and ball stud, which is vertically adjustable. Now, it is supported by aluminum from pushing or pulling out, while still threading into composite so it cannot work loose.

The 22SCT 3.0 will include the Heavy Duty Slipper (HDS) pads, an 84T HDS Spur Gear, and the grooved and taper slipper plates, but the largest improvement comes with the HD slipper spring, giving a wider range of adjustment to improve slipper performance.

During testing, the TLR engineers and race team found that a 2mm wider pivot in the rear provided much more rear grip and stability over the 22SCT 2.0 pivot width without losing any corner speed. A new rear arm also boasts revised shock mounting locations paired with optimized rear tower shock mounting locations, the jumping, landing and chassis roll dynamics of the rear end have been optimized for the higher rear weight bias percentage.

Adjustable Toe and Anti-Squat

Adjustable Toe and Anti-Squat

The 22SCT 3.0 rear pivots now fit adjustable inserts for the rear toe and anti-squat adjustments for a quick and easy change to the geometry without the need to buy additional parts. Both adjustable in 0.5 degree increments, the rear toe adjustments range from 2.5 to 4.0 degrees and the rear anti-squat adjustments range from 0.0 to 3.0 degrees.

GenII 12mm Big Bore Shocks

The GenII 12mm Big Bore Shocks have set a new standard for performance and maintenance. Features include X-Ring Seals, machined shock bushings, machined 2 x 1.6mm pistons, TiCN coated shock shafts, aluminum bleeder screw caps, threaded hard anodized shock bodies, and spring cups that snap onto the shock shafts.

The 22SCT 3.0 builds on the advances of its predecessor with a host of changes that make it the truck to beat in short course competition. Also, many parts that were considered optional on the 2.0 are now included so you can build to team spec right out of the box.

Revised Motor Location

As with the 22™ 3.0 buggy, the 22SCT 3.0 motor location is 12mm closer to the diff gear than it was in the previous version. This increases the rear weight bias, providing better rear grip on exit, more entry steering and a truck that, overall, is easier to drive.

3-Gear Transmission

During testing, the 3-gear transmission substantially improved speed and rear-end grip for both spec and modified classes. Other benefits included better handling, quicker acceleration. A 4-gear transmission is available separately so drivers can dial in response for any track surface, grip level, or driving style.

Shorty packs can also be mounted in line with the chassis. This allows racers to fine tune the weight bias of the truck for just about every racing condition imaginable.
